Import contacts with Excel

Import contacts in bulk via document or Excel

Updated over 2 months ago

Importing contacts via Excel allows you to quickly add customers, suppliers, or contacts without having to enter them individually. It's a useful tool for migrating data from another system or keeping your database updated in bulk.

Centralizing your contacts in Stockagile helps you better manage business operations, streamline shipments, assign transfer managers, and keep all information accessible from a single location.

Requirements to import contacts with Excel

  • The user must have the role of OWNER, STORE SELLER, STORE MANAGER, WHOLESALE MANAGER, or WHOLESALE SELLER. To configure the user's role you must go to Create or edit a user.

Steps to perform an import

  1. In the Contacts module, click the IMPORT CONTACTS button in the top right corner.

  2. Download the EXCEL TEMPLATE to edit and fill in the information. Please note that the first column of the template (Legal Name) is required to perform the bulk import. It is very important to fill in only one Excel sheet and delete any other sheets that may appear.

    • ⚠️ Important: Only one type of client can be imported in each file. This means that if you want to import client and supplier contacts, you must create an Excel file for each: one for clients and one for suppliers.

  3. Once you have the Excel file ready, click the FILE button and then select the contact type (Client, Company, Supplier, etc.).

  4. Once you have uploaded it, click the IMPORT button.

  5. The import may take a few seconds depending on the number of contacts.

  6. If you want to EDIT, DELETE, OR ADD any contact field, you can access any of the contacts you've created to make changes. You can see how to do this in Create or Edit a Company (for example).

To be considered:

  1. Fill in information with the MANDATORY field for a correct import of the contacts.

  2. When filling in the information, the format of the cells must be number.
