Recommended Hardware with Stockagile

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Stockagile is designed as a cloud-based platform, so it works on virtually any device with internet access and a web browser. However, we recommend the following minimum specifications for optimal performance and a better user experience.

If you are using a computer, we recommend the following specifications:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or later (64-bit version), macOS High Sierra 10.13 or later.

  • RAM: At least 8 GB.

  • Browser: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

If you are using a tablet, we recommend the following specifications:

  • Operating System: Android 11 or later, iPadOS 14 or later, Windows 10 or later.

  • RAM: At least 6 GB.

  • Browser: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

  • Examples (with at least 6 GB of RAM):

    • Apple: iPad 9th/10th generation, iPad Air 4th/5th generation, iPad Pro 4th/5th/6th generation, iPad Mini 5th/6th generation

    • Samsung: Galaxy Tab A9/S8/S9/S9 FE

    • Microsoft Surface: Go 3/Pro 8/Pro 9

    • Lenovo: Tab P11/P11 Pro/P12

If you want to access it from a smartphone, we will soon release an app that will allow you to get the most out of Stockagile from anywhere. In the meantime, you can access the platform from your smartphone's browser, but it is not optimized for small screens.

Regarding peripheral devices, such as ticket and label printers, barcode scanners, or portable cash drawers, Stockagile compatibility largely depends on the device you are using.

Ticket Printers

Windows or macOS computers are compatible with virtually any ticket printer on the market (provided the printer is compatible with your computer's specifications), but we recommend the following as they work particularly well:

If you want to use a tablet as a POS system, we recommend any Microsoft Surface model, as long as it runs Windows.

If you prefer to use an iPad, you have the following options for connecting a ticket printer:

  • Any AirPrint-compatible printer.

  • The Epson TM-T30III printer, which connects to Stockagile via network.

Cash Drawers

The vast majority of cash drawers connect to the ticket printer using an RJ11 or RJ12 cable (standard telephone cables). Therefore, compatibility will depend on the printer itself, not the device you use. However, you may need to check your printer and Stockagile settings to ensure the cash drawer opens automatically after a sale. We recommend the following models:

Label printers

Generally, there are two options for printing labels: using a standard printer with DIN A4 labels or using a dedicated label printer. Stockagile recommends the first option, as printing is simpler with standard sizes.

However, if you prefer to use a label printer, you can use any compatible printer. Stockagile will provide the labels in PDF or Excel format. If you're unsure which one to buy, we recommend any model from Zebra or Brother.

Barcode scanner

Barcode scanners are compatible with virtually any device and are very easy to connect via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or USB. Perhaps the most important factors are the types of barcodes they can read and their scanning capacity. We recommend the following models:

Barcode scanners (1D)

Barcode and QR code scanners (1D and 2D):
