Create, edit and delete product locations

Configure the locations of your products within a warehouse

Updated yesterday

The locations feature allows you to specify the exact place in your store or warehouse where a product is located, making it easier to find and optimizing your logistics processes.

This tool is especially useful in physical stores or large warehouses, where quickly identifying each product’s location is key to improving operational efficiency.

Requirements to create a location

  • You must have products and locations already created.

  • The user must have one of the following roles: OWNER, PRODUCT EDITOR, STORE MANAGER, WHOLESALE MANAGER or INVENTORY MANAGER.
You can view the different user roles in the article: Create or Edit a User.

1. Accessing store locations

  1. Go to the Inventory module from the left-hand side menu.

  2. Click on Locations.

  3. Select the store or warehouse you want to manage (e.g., "Tienda Barcelona").

  4. In the Locations tab, you’ll see a table where you can view:

    • Products: shows all products and their assigned location (if any).

    • Locations: shows all locations with the assigned products listed under them.

2. Creating a new location

You can create locations from scratch:

  1. Click on the + New location button (top right corner).

  2. Enter the location name and save.

These new locations will then be available to assign to products.

3. Assigning a location to a product from the Products tab

  1. In the Products tab, you’ll see all your products for that store or warehouse.

  2. There are three columns:

    1. Products: shows all product variants in that location.

    2. Location: displays the current location of each product (if assigned).

    3. Location icon action: allows you to assign a location directly from the list.

  3. If a product has no location assigned, you’ll see the message:
"Add a location to this product to help you find it in your warehouse."

  4. To assign one click on the 📍 icon on the right.

  5. Type or select a location (e.g., P1-E1, Shelf 3, etc.).

  6. If the location does not exist yet, you can create it directly in the pop-up window.

  7. Click Save to confirm the assignment.

💡 You can assign as many locations as you need, as long as they are unique and make sense for your physical layout.

4. Editing or deleting a location from the Locations tab

  1. To edit a location, hover over it to activate the pencil icon, click to enter edit mode, make your changes, and click save.

  2. To delete it, click on it again and press the Delete button.
⚠️ This action is not reversible.

💡 You can also delete a location from the Products tab by clicking the ❌ next to the location name.

5. Filtering products without a location

To help organize your warehouse more efficiently:

  1. Enable the Show products without location checkbox at the top of the table.

  2. The list will display only the products that don’t have any assigned location.

This is useful to ensure that all your inventory is properly organized.

Practical tips

  • Use consistent naming conventions such as “P1-E1” or “Shelf 2 – Level 3”.

  • Involve your team to define a clear and replicable location system.

  • Regularly review which products have no assigned location.
